Happy Birthday Maylee Joy!

Maylee woke up this morning coming to my room with a big 4 year old smile! I started to explain to her that she was born at 8:06am, so I consider her my morning baby. That's why we snuggle really well together in the morning :) She replied with "I'm your sunshine?" :)
Yes Maylee, you are my sunshine! Perfect word to describe this child! Happy birthday love!

Interview with Maylee this morning:
1. What do you want to be when you grow up?
"A talking flower."
2. What do you do with your spare time? "I just hurry and throw things, like, when you're in a hurry."
3. What is your favorite meal that I make you? Chicken

4. What can you do now that you're 4 yrs old?
"I can now push myself on a swing."
5. What advice do you want to give to anyone that's turning four?
"Just be like Abby, cause she got baptized"
6. What do you want to do today for your birthday? "I want everybody to go to the swings. And I'll be the mom."

A thought at midnight

The secret to having it all, is BELIEVING that you already do.

I like this saying.
Before I go to bed tonight, after an emotional draining day, I just want to take some time and list the blessings in my life. It's a way to stop feeling sorry for myself. Not sure if anyone else struggles with this, but I find myself at times focusing on what's missing in life, rather than looking around and finding joy in what I have in life. Right here. Right now.

And I have it all, really. I just need to remind myself of that. So here's my reminder. I encourage you all to do the same when you're feeling in a slump.

I'm grateful for my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. My heart is currently smiling just thinking of the love he has for each one of us. I'm grateful for the chance I have to feel his peace and love through the atonement. Learning about the atonement is a continual progress and I'm glad I am on board yearning for more knowledge and humility.

Being a mom to my little Maylee is a delight! I love what she teaches me. I love the little reminders she gives me that there's so much joy in life. And it's a blessing to have the challenges of parenting. Definitely difficult but keeps you progressing... and giggling a lot :)

I have a safe home (killer deal on rent), warm beds, clothes/jewelery that make me feel dolled up and stylish, healthy food and even some yummy treats to enjoy.

I enjoy my jobs and the people I associate with. All of them; ages 2 and up! So nice to have such cool peeps.

I've got a GREAT FAMILY and DEAR FRIENDS. So loving and supportive. My teammates.

I've got a healthy mind and body that does a lot for me! And it deserves some tender love and care. To me that means more appreciation, less criticism.

So yep, I have it all! I'm thinking if I keep this kind of attitude, it doesn't matter where life takes me or how life changes. I'll be grateful for all that I have to LOVE.

I'm just a dang good lover! haha ;)

Okay goodnight.

Tennis

Maylee had her first tennis lesson the other day. I picked up a huge tennis ball at Wal-Mart thinking it might be a better way to teach. It turned out well! She likes it! And that makes me smile :) Go away winter...we need to play.
